Cruel head clash ruins down to the wire Grand Final

Dazzlers Dingoes have won the First Crack Grand Final after Lachlan Fitzgibbon leaves the field after 24 minutes in the Knights loss to the Cronulla Sharks. A cruel head clash with his own team mate ended 100n80s tilt towards the title, after a few rookie errors from coach Nevan Clarkson cost his side any chance of victory.

Speaking after the match, Bevan was a very gracious winner “I thought it was a gutsy win against a great and unlucky side” you could see the pride in his eyes as he looked on at his players singing Tina Turners “Simply The Best”.

But there is not much time for rest, as Bevan looks to be better and stronger in 2019. Speaking of the new season, the Dingoes immortal is showing he wants to win again next season. “We will be looking to continue the fine form of 2018, I will speak to the board and try find out how many keepers we get and go from there”.

One of those keepers must surely be James Tedesco, who was simply amazing in a losing side. “Teddy without a doubt. He came through in the clutch and gave us a chance to win. Without him the game would have been over saturday night”

On the flip side, Clarkson was relatively happy with his season. “The final was little hard to swallow, but as a whole we were pretty lucky to get this far after the poor start to the season”. Clearly looking towards the future, the 38 year old has massive plans for his sides future. “We are gonna sit down as a club and discuss where to go from here. We came into the season with second hand jerseys and old lockers and furniture from the Manly club, I mean my old desk was Geoff Toovey’s and I picked it up for $12.50 off Gumtree”.

There are whispers of a potential name change for the 100n80 club, as well as talks of expanding the league and adding a finals series. If this was to happen though, all 4 teams would need to be involved in the discussions. Incidently Basic B!ithes and Head Coach Talia Bevan has seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth. “Hope she’s not fallen off the edge of the earth” jokes Clarkson. “All these flat earther’s have to fear is Sphere itself”. We were unable to contact Talia at the time of printing.

As for the Avengers, there are some serious allegations against head coach Joanne Bevan (formally known as Joanne Slater-Hayne and also know as Joanne Kikau), that in a bid to derail the juggernaut that was 100n80, she traded players to her brother, Darren Bevan who’s team have now won the First Crack Grand Final. From behind his desk in Penrose, Clarkson is livid at hearing he could have been cheated. “THERES GOT TO BE AN INVESTIGATION ” as he yells down a landline at a journalist who’s investigating the rumours. “I’ve known Bevo for 33 years, he’s never cheated me out of anything in all our years of friendship, well except maybe that Steve Waugh shirt he used to tease me with as kids”.

Dingoes have denied any involvement in Tankgate, instead shifting the blame towards the Avengers head coach. Putting on his General Managers cap, Bevan unleashed on the club “The Avengers need to take a long hard look at themselves, i dont know if there are personal issues there but we are a no tank league, consider it a first and final warning”.

For now though, the season is over. First Crack headquarters should be complete come 2019 kick off. There was a shift in offices as First Crack
