Dingoes (1) vs Grubs (4)
Thursday, July 18
7:50pm
Edmund Thornton Reserve
The Dazzlers Dingoes are the Winx of this year’s regular season, having gotten out to a strong start, kept pace the pace all the way and despite a final-round stumble against the Piranhas, held on to claim a first minor premiership.
On the back of an impressive draft, which saw them score the signatures of Cameron Munster and Clint Gutherson, the Dingoes entered 2019 as the title favourites, and after finishing as the best team after 14 rounds, they are the team to beat in July-August.
First up on their hit list are the Grubs, who have won their past three matches, including defeating the Tigers at Leichhardt, to finish fourth.
The Grubs warmed up for the finals by defeating the Tigers 843-672 at Leichhardt Oval, but having secured the double chance, Josh’s men now have the chance to win their maiden premiership, and upsetting the Dingoes at Edmund Thornton Reserve will go a long way towards achieving that goal.
For the winner
A week off and direct passage to the preliminary final.
For the loser
Face the winner of the Tigers vs Dragons match next Thursday night.
Prediction: Dingoes by 14 points.
