2019 FCFL Finals Series First Elimination Final – Balmain Tigers vs Dragons 1015

Tigers (5) vs Dragons (8)

Thursday, July 18
7:50pm
Leichhardt Oval

After an up and down season, during which they lost their top 4 position in a final round shootout to the Grubs, so it remains to be seen if the Tigers can move on quickly when they begin the first finals campaign.

James Tedesco will be a welcome return after a grueling Origin campaign should be fresh and ready to lead his side.

David Nofoaluma recently returned to the top squad, and he looms as their x-factor as they attempt to become the first to win the title from outside the top four.

Meantime, the Dragons head into their first finals campaign on the back of four losses from their past five matches.

Their eighth-place finish this season follows a strong off-season in which they landed the likes of Jason Taumalolo (2019 Scoring Title) and Cameron Murray (2019 MVP), among others.

They won their first match of the year, but their form has been patchy since. Quite appropriately, their match will be at Leichhardt Oval, the venue where they lost last time out against the Tigers. Dragons will be looking for their first ever win over the Tigers.
